A note from the founder

Why Mezbaan exists

Every hotel and restaurant owner I meet is first a host. They remember a regular’s name, the table a family likes, the room a couple asked for last year. What wears them down is not the guests. It is the evening spent adding up the front desk register, the restaurant pad and the cash box, and still not knowing what was really earned that day.

Mezbaan exists so the host can stay a host. The front desk, the restaurant and room service work in one system. A dinner reaches a room only after it is checked, every rupee is counted once, and the numbers at night are the numbers your accountant sees at month end.

We built Munshi for the question every owner asks at 11 at night: how did we do today? Munshi answers from your own figures and shows how it worked each one out, because a number you cannot check is a number you cannot trust.

That is our promise. You focus on being the host. We take care of the numbers.

The story

How Mezbaan came to be

  1. Chapter 1

    Three registers, one tired owner

In hotel after hotel we saw the same evening: a register at the front desk, another in the restaurant, slips for room service, and bills that never quite matched at the end of the day.

  2. Chapter 2

    Where the money slipped

A room-service slip that reached the desk late. A dinner counted twice, once by the restaurant and once on the room bill. A void nobody approved. None of it was the staff’s fault; the tools were not connected.

  3. Chapter 3

    Diagnose first, then build

We started from a first audit of what was actually going wrong, not from a feature list. Every part of Mezbaan answers one of those problems.

  4. Chapter 4

    Mezbaan

One system for the front desk, the restaurant and room service, with Munshi built in and books a CA can close. In three editions: Sarai, Haveli and Rasoi.

Point of view

What we believe about software for hosts

Understand how a business runs before telling it what to change.

When a figure is wrong, fix the tool before blaming the staff.

Every number should show how it was worked out.

Staff should be able to work in the language they are comfortable with.
